Ministry Apprenticeship

Purpose

As students of Jesus Christ our purpose is to grow in an experiential relationship with God and to help others enter and grow in that relationship as well. Our ultimate goal is to be Transformed Entirely Like Our Savior! Within that context, the purpose of this ministry apprenticeship is “To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…”[1] through a community of worship, education, prayer, Christ-centered fellowship,[2] and service.

Overview

  • This program includes both educational and ministry experience components.

  • The program is designed to have more educational hours in the beginning and increasing ministry hours as the program progresses.

  • Participants may be part-time or full-time employees of TELOS (25-40 hrs/wk)

  • Minimum one-year commitment required.

  • Each student will have an accountability partner and a personal mentor.

  • Students will gather regularly for worship and prayer.

Ministry Experience

Apprentices will get hands on ministry experience that progresses into a specific focus based on gifts and calling. This may include evangelistic outreach, pastoral ministry in a church setting, or a variety of ministry opportunities within the school.

Community Connection

Students will gather each week for worship and prayer.

Educational Components

Course content will be academically accessible and customizable for students, ranging from high school (i.e. for those who did not complete HS) to college level (for those who would be willing and able to engage at a deeper level). The emphasis will be on experiential learning. A list of classes are as follows:

Compensation

Apprentices will have the opportunity and training to raise support in order to meet their basic needs. The employment element is important, this will allow students to prioritize a significant amount of time to fully engage the program. The vision is to move towards a more biblical model of discipleship (full-time students).
